One of the most critical aspects for a successful outcome for a child that comes into the child welfare system is having a stable placement that meets their needs.  Those that have worked and advocated for children for many years, usually have that special story about a “wonderful foster home.”   In this workshop, experienced foster parents will share their perspectives on why they do this work, what   their greatest challenges are, what disappointments many face, and what they need to be successful in this role.    They will also engage the audience is discussion about how to foster strong working relationships and how to “bridge distances” when children are placed in homes far away.
