Brent Hill, JD

Brent Hill has practiced criminal and family law since 1998 and has prosecuted misdemeanor, felony cases and CPS termination cases in Cooke County.   Since leaving the Cooke County District Attorney’s office in 2003, he has represented both children and parents in Cooke and Denton counties. He prefers representing parents due to the challenge and reward of assisting them in making real changes in their lives.  In the last six years, he has tried more than 25 CPS termination jury trials, most of which representing parents.  However, in two cases, he prosecuted and sought termination as the attorney ad litem against CPS and the parents.

C6 Testifying Beyond the Basics

This session will assist CASA volunteers preparing for trial testimony. CASAs will learn how to most effectively get their children’s needs met through casework preparation and courtroom testimony. Through audience participation and role playing exercises, attendees will increase their levels of comfort with trial procedures and presenting testimony.
