Judge Robert R. Hofmann

Judge Rob Hofmann is assigned to the Texas Child Protection Court of the Hill Country which has jurisdiction over all child abuse and neglect cases in 12 counties. The court typically carries 300 cases involving about 500 children. Judge Hofmann has presided in over 10,000 dependency case hearings and over 200 adoptions.
 
Judge Hofmann has served on several committees of state and national organizations that focus on child welfare and legal issues. He has testified before the Texas Legislature many times and frequently speaks to various bar and professional organizations about child welfare and related legal matters. During the 2009 National Center for State Courts National Judicial Summit, Judge Hofmann was on the Texas team that developed and adopted a state action plan to improve education outcomes for kids in care and keep foster children closer to their homes.
 
Judge Hofmann holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M University and J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law.
