C7 Volunteer Retention: Building Relationships Across a Cultural Divide
How does history impact the role of a volunteer? This is an important consideration when working across racial, cultural and ethnic differences. It is in the history and experience of people and communities that you find those significant events that shape an individual and/or collective world view. This is where your relationship with a volunteer begins. Participants will leave with the ability to build a strategic plan relative to outreach that uses existing resources and capacity in a community, while leveraging those resources to build a strong and effective volunteer pool. Most importantly, attendees will leave with the tools necessary to work toward improved retention rates of volunteers from communities of color.
