Heather Rashid

Heather Rashid is the WINGS Project Team Leader at Child Advocates of Fort Bend.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of St. Thomas in Houston where she received a Bachelor’s degree concentrating in psychology and english.  Ms. Rashid worked for the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services as a CPS Conservatorship Caseworker in Harris County, and as a Protective Services Intake Specialist in Austin.

This workshop presents an innovative pilot in Fort Bend County that builds resiliency in youth through dynamic and empowering Youth Led Circles of Support (COS) meetings that begin once a youth turns 14. A facilitated panel of experts that includes a former foster youth, a CASA supervisor, and a CPS staff will share their passion and collaboration to change the odds for negative outcomes for youth leaving care and break the foster care syndrome by building invincible youth!
