Danielle Simon

Danielle Simon is a Circle of Support Facilitator with Children's Protective Services in Fort Bend County. In August 2010, Ms. Simon initiated strategic planning with her Program Administrator and Fort Bend CASA to implement Youth Led Circle of Support Meetings, including the  development and clarification of objectives, coordination of planning efforts, effective communication and achieving acceptance and implementation of plans. She worked for 10 years with youth in Children's Protective Services. She has worked in the Sub-care/Foster adopt program, Family reunification, Family based safety services and Family Group Decision Making programs.  Ms. Simon holds a bachelor of arts degree in social studies, and A. A. in general studies and a minor in Psychology. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

This workshop presents an innovative pilot in Fort Bend County that builds resiliency in youth through dynamic and empowering Youth Led Circles of Support (COS) meetings that begin once a youth turns 14. A facilitated panel of experts that includes a former foster youth, a CASA supervisor, and a CPS staff will share their passion and collaboration to change the odds for negative outcomes for youth leaving care and break the foster care syndrome by building invincible youth!
