The 2016 Texas CASA Conference: Amplifying Voices will take place Nov. 3-5 in Dallas at the Westin Dallas Park Central. We hope you will join us for three days of speakers, institutes and workshops that will take you outside of the box to provide the highest quality of advocacy for children in the child protection system.

We have compiled and answered conference FAQs below to help you start your conference planning.


When does registration open and close?
Registration is now closed! We have officially reach capacity and sold out of spots for this year’s conference!

What if I wasn’t able to register?
If you were not able to reserve your spot for this year’s conference in time, please talk with your program’s Executive Director about potential substitution opportunities. We also strongly encourage programs who have a cancellation, but no one within their program who can take the spot, to communicate with other programs who may be willing to take that spot and reimburse them.*

*Texas CASA will process program-to-program substitutions the same way we process substitutions within the same program. However, the programs themselves are responsible for working out payment. Please contact Communications Specialist Emma Ledford for more information on substitutions.

Are meals included in the registration cost?
The following meals are included with your registration purchase:

Thursday: Afternoon snack break
Friday: Breakfast, Morning & afternoon snack breaks, Gala Dinner
Saturday: Breakfast, Morning snack break

Helpful tips prior to registration:

  • Inform your bank of the large purchase you are about to make with your credit card,
  • If you have Texas CASA Conference fees in your FY 2016 CVC or FY 2016 VOCA budgets, please be sure to pay for these fees prior to August 31 for CVC and September 30 for VOCA,
  • Have a unique email address ready for each registrant when registering a group of people,
  • Be aware that each person will get their own individual email confirmation at the email address provided, and
  • If you “opt out” of Cvent (our registration system) you will not get updates or reminders regarding the conference or future Texas CASA trainings.

Hotel & Travel

Where can I stay, and is there a discounted rate?
For the conference hotel, Westin Dallas Park Central, the discounted rate is $159-$179/night plus 15.25% tax. Reservations are not accepted at this time. After you complete your conference registration you will receive a confirmation email with the hotel information you need to reserve a room. Only one reservation per name will be accepted. Overflow hotels will be announced closer to registration.

How do I get there?
The conference hotel is roughly 25 minutes from both the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport. For exact directions both by air and by car, visit the conference Hotel & Travel page.

Is parking available at the conference hotel?
Complimentary surface parking is available adjacent to the conference hotel. Overnight self-parking in the hotel garage is $12 plus tax and overnight valet is available for $27 plus tax.
